How do you pronounce “lh” in Portuguese (telhado vs teclado)?

Telhado is a roof; teclado is a keyboard. The pair makes a neat drill for lh, the sound at the heart of filho, trabalho and olho: one squashed sound with the tongue flat against the palate, roughly the middle of English “million” compressed into a single beat. Flatten it into a plain “l” and the word slides toward something the listener has to guess at.

The clip is a chain of near-misses: papel heard as pastel (paper → fried pastry), teclado heard as telhado (keyboard → roof), abaixa aqui heard as abacaxi (crouch down → pineapple).
