What does “salgadinho” mean in Brazilian Portuguese?

Salgado means salty, and Brazilians turned it into a whole food category: salgados are the savoury bites at any gathering — coxinha, pastel, empada — as opposed to the doces, the sweets. Shrink it to salgadinho and, in most of Brazil, you mean the bagged stuff: crisps, cheese puffs, corn snacks. Ask for salgadinhos at a birthday party, though, and little savoury pastries will arrive.

The doce/salgado split organises Brazilian eating: bakery counters, party trays and buffet tables are all divided along it. In the clip a boy talks up his packet to a friend with three adjectives in a row — está muito delicioso, gostoso, saboroso — which is the set-up for the trick that follows.
