Tap a word, see how it's said (romanization, kana, pinyin, stress marks)

Tap a word and the card shows how to say it, right under the word. Korean and Bangla words come with Latin letters. A Japanese word written in kanji shows its reading in kana, so 食べる comes with たべる. Chinese words show their pinyin with tones, like 你好 nǐ hǎo. Russian words show where the stress goes, like молоко́. You get the meaning and the sound together, before you can read the script on your own.

A new script is slow going at first. You might know what a word means and still not know how to say it. Russian has its own version of this: you can read every letter, but normal writing never shows which part of the word to stress. The reading stays on the word card, so the subtitles themselves stay in the real script, and you can lean on it less as you go.
