Boer zoekt Vrouw (“Farmer Seeks Wife”) is the long-running Dutch reality show on KRO-NCRV that’s been pairing single farmers with hopeful candidates since 2004. Host Yvon Jaspers has become the calm, motherly face of the format. The show draws Sunday-night audiences in the millions and has produced a long list of actual marriages, real farms with real heirs, and the occasional dramatic dump. Belgium, the UK, France, Australia, and the US all run their own versions, but the Dutch original is generally credited as the format leader.
