What does “baad iznak” (بعد إذنك) mean in Arabic?

بعد إذنك — literally “after your permission” — is one of the most useful politeness formulas in Arabic. It excuses you from a room, squeezes you past someone in a crowd, interrupts a conversation, or, as in this clip, politely launches an announcement: فبعد إذنكم عشان أبدأ فيها — “so, with your permission, let me get started.” The plural بعد إذنكم addresses a group; add يا جماعة and you can exit any gathering gracefully.

The grammar is a tiny possession lesson: إذن (permission) + your pronoun — بعد إذنك to a man, بعد إذنِك to a woman, بعد إذن حضرتك for extra Egyptian courtesy. The creator uses it to announce a series — living the life of every Arab country in the الوطن العربي, “the Arab homeland,” the standard phrase for the Arab world as one cultural space.
