What do Czech YouTubers say at the end of their videos?
Dejte like, dejte odběr is the standard Czech YouTuber sign-off, the local version of like and subscribe. Dejte means give (imperative plural), odběr is the native Czech word for subscription (literally taking off, as in subscribing to a newspaper). Like, on the other hand, slipped in straight from English with no Czech equivalent. The hybrid is a tiny case study in how Czech absorbs internet English: keep the foreign noun for the new social-media gesture, wrap it in native verb morphology, and pair it with a calque for the older idea of subscribing.
In this clip, the host wraps up a mattress-popping bit with “Dejte like... a dejte odběr.”
