Why is it “feet” and not “foots”?

One foot, two feet. This is a surprise for many learners. For most words, you add -s to make more than one. One hand, two hands. One leg, two legs. But foot does not work this way. You do not say foots. The word changes to feet. So you have one foot and two feet. Just remember this small group of words. They do not follow the normal rule.

In the clip, the teacher points and says, “This is my foot. My foot or with two, it’s feet. Feet.” He shows one foot, then two feet. This is a clear, easy way to see the change. Foot becomes feet when there is more than one.
