Live has two sounds: “liv” (sounds like give) means to have your home somewhere; “live” (sounds like five) means happening now.
The word live looks the same but has two sounds. One sound is “liv,” and it rhymes with give. It means to have your home in a place. I live in New York. The other sound rhymes with five. It means something is happening right now. The news is live. Same letters, two sounds, two meanings. You learn which one from the rest of the sentence.
The clip shows both in a row: “I live in a house” uses the “liv” sound, like give. Then “The news is live” and “They are doing the news live” use the sound that rhymes with five. So a TV show that is live is happening right now, as you watch.
