What does “enfadarse” mean in Spanish?

Enfadarse means “to get angry,” and it is the normal word in Spain. Across Latin America people usually say enojarse instead, with the same meaning. Both are understood, but they split clearly by region. It is a reflexive verb, so you say me enfado (I get angry) or se enfada (he/she gets angry). Learning the pair enfadarse / enojarse helps you sound natural in either place.

The clip repeats mi mamá se enfada mucho (my mom gets angry a lot) again and again. Tip: use estar enfadado/a for the state (“I am angry”) and enfadarse for the change (“to get angry”). In Mexico and most of Latin America you would hear se enoja here instead.
