What does “¿cómo se dice?” mean in Spanish?

¿Cómo se dice? means “how do you say...?” It is the single most useful phrase for a learner, because it lets you ask for any word you are missing. The se dice part is an impersonal “one says / is said,” so the whole thing is “how is it said?” You can add the word you want at the end: ¿Cómo se dice “airport”? asks how to say “airport” in Spanish.
