What is the difference between “secador” and “secadora” in Spanish?

Two very similar words, two different machines. Secadora is the big machine that dries your clothes. Secador is the small handheld one that dries your hair (secador de pelo). The clip says Yo pongo la ropa en el secador (“I put the clothes in the dryer”), but the proper word for the clothes machine is secadora. The endings -or and -ora feel tiny, but they change the meaning.

A quick way to remember: small device, masculine secador; big appliance, feminine secadora. The clip also gives you mojada (La ropa está mojada = “the clothes are wet”) and seca (la ropa está seca = “the clothes are dry”) for the before and after.
