What is the “10 Miles van Antwerpen”?
The 10 Miles van Antwerpen is the annual mass-participation run that takes over Antwerp for one Sunday each April. Started in 1986, it now pulls roughly 40,000 runners across the 10-mile, 10-km, and 5-km courses, plus a kids' Short Run, all looping through the city center and over the Schelde via the Kennedytunnel. For an Antwerpenaar, finishing it once is a kind of civic minimum. Belgian celebrities and politicians sign up annually to perform fitness in public.
In this Play clip, the host quizzes the contestant Doreen on her training history: “Doreen, heb jij ooit eens niet meegedaan aan 10 miles?”
