مقلب الشبح في البيت بين الأم والابنة

What does “udhakir” (أذاكر) mean in Arabic?
The girl in this clip hears her mother at the door and stages a classic scene: سأقوم بتمثيل أنني أذاكر — “I’ll act like I’m studying.” ذاكر is the school verb — reviewing lessons, doing homework — distinct from درس, which is studying a subject in general. You تدرس medicine, but the night before an exam you تذاكر. The noun مذاكرة is that grind of revision every Arab student knows too well.
The root ذ-ك-ر means “to remember, to mention,” so مذاكرة is literally working material into memory — a verb with the study method built in. It’s the everyday term in Egypt especially (ذاكرت؟ — “have you studied?” is the eternal parental question). The prank continues with a شبح — a ghost — supposedly rattling the door handle, until the sister reveals the مقلب.
