What does “blast off” mean in English?

When a rocket blasts off, it leaves the ground with great power and flies up into the air. You use this phrase for rockets and spaceships. There are three easy ways to say the same thing: a rocket can launch, it can take off, or it can blast off. They all mean to leave the ground and go up. “Blast off” sounds the most exciting.

In the clip, the teacher gives all three: “The first one is a rocket is launching. The second one is a rocket is taking off. The third one is a rocket is blasting off.” He says they all mean to leave the ground and go into the air.
