What does “repetida” mean with sticker albums in Argentina?

In the world of collectible stickers, a repetida is a duplicate: a figurita you already pasted in your album, so the extra copy becomes trade currency. Collectors hoard their repetidas to swap for the ones they still need, and friends often just hand them over. The colloquial short form is repe. Knowing this word unlocks the whole social ritual of completing a sticker album in Argentina and Uruguay.

Here one kid says “Yo tengo muchas repetidas. Se las voy a regalar todas” — I’ve got loads of duplicates, I’ll give them all to you. A swap is a cambio, and the famous saying “figurita repetida no completa el álbum” (a duplicate doesn’t complete the album) has grown into an idiom for someone who turns up everywhere but adds nothing new.
