What is “jeukseokbap”?

즉석밥 (jeukseokbap) is the Korean term for microwavable instant rice, the Hetbahn-style plastic cup of pre-cooked rice that heats in 90 seconds. CJ launched the original Hetbahn in 1996, and jeukseokbap has since become a kitchen staple in Korean homes, dorms, and convenience stores. Young Koreans cook with it the way many Americans use rotisserie chicken: as the easy starting point for a meal.
