What does 'مو' mean in Gulf Arabic?

مو (mū) is the Gulf and Yemeni Arabic negation, used to negate nouns and adjectives. مو هنا (not here), مو زين (not good), مو يمني (not Yemeni), مو راح أشتغل (I won’t work). Egyptians say مش, Levantines say مش or مو, but the short crisp mū is what tags a speaker as Gulf, Iraqi, or Yemeni when you hear it.
