What does “ellitiĝi” mean in Esperanto?

Coaxing a partner awake, this creator asks: “Ĉu vi planas ellitiĝi?” — “Do you plan to get out of bed?” The word stacks three pieces: el- (“out of”), lito (“bed”), and -iĝi (“become”) — literally “to become out-of-bed.” Esperanto builds an entire vocabulary this way, combining a small set of parts instead of inventing a new root for every action.

The mirror-image verb, enlitiĝi (“to go to bed”), swaps el- for en- (“into”) and keeps everything else the same — one prefix flipped, opposite meaning. Once you know the three pieces separately, dozens of similar compounds (this batch alone also has koloriĝi and surhavi) stop looking like new vocabulary and start looking like arithmetic.
