Who is André Kuipers in the Netherlands?

André Kuipers is the Netherlands' most-recognised astronaut and one of the country’s go-to children’s-TV explainers. He flew two missions to the International Space Station (10 days in 2004, 193 days in 2011-12) as an ESA astronaut. After returning, he became the explain-everything voice on Dutch kids' shows, walking viewers through how astronauts pee, sleep, eat, brush their teeth, and recover bone density when they come home. Kuipers translates orbital life into plain Dutch the way Carl Sagan once did for English.
