게임 팀 나누기와 질투 섞인 한마디

What does '팀 나누기' mean in Korean variety shows?
팀 나누기 (tim nanugi) literally means team-splitting. Korean uses the verbal noun ending -기 to turn any verb into a noun-like activity: 나누다 (to divide) becomes 나누기, 먹다 (eat) becomes 먹기. 팀 나누기 names the moment a variety-show host or a teacher tells contestants to form groups, the launch-pad scene of countless K-variety episodes.
In this clip, the host runs the standard four-per-team setup: « 네 명이 한 팀이 되는 겁니다 » (we go four to a team). « 정말 잘할 사람 아니면 정말 마음에 드는 사람 » (pick a real ace, or someone you actually like): the recurring K-variety dilemma between competitive picks and friendship picks.
