What does “lækker” mean in Danish?

The cook can’t stop saying it: a “lækker” soup, a “lækker lækker” recipe. Lækker is the everyday Danish word for “delicious,” the go-to compliment for good food. But Danes stretch it far beyond the kitchen: a lækker sofa is gorgeous, lækkert vejr is lovely weather, and en lækker fyr is a hot guy. It’s one of the first “feel-good” words you’ll notice in spoken Danish.
