Subir como la espuma (“to rise like foam”) is a pan-Spanish idiom for someone or something that climbs fast. The image comes from the head of foam on a freshly poured beer or the rising froth on milk: it grows quickly and visibly. Spanish speakers across Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia use it for actors, athletes, politicians, and brands on a hot streak.
